बागमती नदी सीतामढ़ी से होकर बहती है और इसे पवित्र माना जाता है। छठ पूजा और अन्य त्योहारों के दौरान नदी के घाट महत्वपूर्ण हैं।
The Bagmati, considered sacred across the Mithila region, flows through Sitamarhi district and its ghats here have long been used for Chhath Puja and seasonal festivals, alongside the town's other river, the Lakhandei.
A few kilometres from Sitamarhi town centre; local autos ply the route regularly, especially during festival season.
