Sacred pond near Janki Mandir where Goddess Sita is believed to have bathed in her childhood. Surrounded by ghats and small temples. Major ghat for Chhath Puja celebrations. Recently renovated with beautiful lighting and garden.

जानकी कुंड जानकी मंदिर के पास का पवित्र तालाब है जहाँ देवी सीता बचपन में स्नान करती थीं। छठ पूजा का प्रमुख घाट है।

इतिहास / History

Also referred to as Sita Kund in some local accounts, this pond adjoining Janki Mandir is believed to be where infant Sita was bathed. It has long served as a Chhath Puja ghat for the town and was recently renovated with new ghats, lighting and a landscaped garden.
